This practicum will showcase what an ice resurfacer operator needs to know to properly and safely maintain and adjust the business end – conditioner of an ice resurfacer. It will focus on fine tuning the equipment and proper adjustment principles to ensure the highest level of resurfacing occurs. In addition, the adjustment and troubleshooting of laser equipment will be discussed. The workshop concludes with an overview of ice maintenance activities that includes ice depth measurement options and record keeping best practices. A good opportunity to confirm that your current operations measure up to today’s practical applications and methods.
Personal Protective Equipment Required: Participants attending this course are required to supply and wear their own CSA-approved head protection, layered clothing, and appropriate footwear suitable for an ice arena environment. No exception.
This course is worth 7 professional development credits towards recertification of any ORFA professional designation
